The Great Craig’s List Experiment
The Great Craig’s List Experiment: Day 1: I post my first ever Craig’s List personal ad, making sure it’s in the Women seeking Men and NOT casual encounters.I go for a brief top ten list of what I’m looking for and top ten of who I am.It goes live about 9:30 on a Sunday night, but I’m too tired to stay up and see if I get any responses that evening so I go to sleep.Wow, am I shizzle…I wake and open my email to approximately 25 responses to my ad, my confidence soars.Upon brief scanning, a few even look promising so I embark on the not so nice elimination…

THE ONE
Two people were casually commenting on how they hadn’t found THE ONE yet. While casual, there was a tone of anxiety that plagued the conversation. That tone made the words hang in the air before me, enough so that I could pull myself to the sidelines of that conversation and reflect before I made a stance about what I thought. What did I think? What’s the term THE ONE suppose to mean and who does THE ONE suppose to refer to. Well, I’ve heard it enough and have honestly used the phrase myself in the past to know they meant THE ONE is THE ONE person who is the soul…

I Don’t Heart Chick Flicks
The Position I am reminded of how much chick flicks annoy me. I think they are a key reason why so many people continue to have unrealistic expectations when it comes to relationships. They magnify the theory that for women, finding love is the end-all, be-all of life; that regardless of what else she has going on for her, her life is only complete when she finds that soul mate. I know I haven’t dated much. I know I freeze up when I walk into those meat market type clubs where the women wear shirts for dresses and the men wear enough cologne to paralyze small animals in their wake. But thank god I have my senses to know a worthy pick up line. So I know that even if you have the look, the confidence and the cash…those things make no difference if you have a cheap, under-developed or mass market fishing line. Like the youngster who decided to tell me how classy my bracelet was and from that he could tell that I was classy…now could he have…

Fishing in International Waters
There are many seas out there with exotic specimens unique to their environments. While the closest ponds are ideally the best to fish in for daily sustenance, traveling abroad can often bring an interesting bite. What I found most intriguing, much more so than the local cuisine, was the readily abundant schools of traveling fish. Mighty fine young adventure seekers, they were. Many quite far from home; very few from waters I was familiar with. Regardless, a skilled fisherwoman would have no trouble loading up her net. Even novices could throw out a compelling line for a nibble of conversation, one much more engaging than “You swim these waters often?”…
